A 25 cm character at a premium hand-feel costs what it costs; the way to hit a price is to change the size, not to shave the fabric.

Where premium plush is actually decided
The mill, and the pile height
Two fabrics that look identical in a photo differ entirely in the hand. Pile height, density and backing determine whether the plush reads as soft or as felt — and the price difference between mills is smaller than most buyers expect.
Cutting against the nap
Fabric has a direction. Cut every panel the same way and the light reflects evenly; get it wrong on two panels and the character looks bruised in photographs.
Filling density, panel by panel
A head needs more density than a limb to hold shape, and less than a foot to stay soft. Uniform filling is what makes an expensive pattern feel cheap.
The closing seam
Ladder stitch, hidden or exposed, and how the last 3 cm is closed decides whether the object feels handmade or assembled. It is also the first place QC should look.

Questions buyers ask
Are you affiliated with Jellycat?
No. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or a supplier to Jellycat. We manufacture plush for other brands and we do not reproduce protected character designs or trade dress.
What is the minimum order?
It depends on whether new tooling and custom fabric are involved — a stock fabric with your label is a very different run from a custom-milled pile. Tell us the design and the channel and we will quote quantity and price together.
Can you match a reference sample we already have?
Yes, and it is the fastest way to start. Send the physical sample; we identify the fabric construction, measure the pattern and tell you what can be matched and what has to change.
Which safety standards do you work to?
EN71 for the EU and UK, ASTM F963 and CPSIA for the US, and the equivalent for other markets. Products are designed against those regulations and tested by a third-party lab for your product; we do not claim certificates we do not hold.
